2012 Qupé Santa Barbara County Syrah

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Plump boysenberry and dewy sagebrush meet with a touch of wet asphalt on the nose of this bottling by Bob Lindquist, whose pioneering brand is now part of Charles Banks' portfolio. Dark purple fruits, from blueberry to blackberry, show on the palate, but with refreshing tartness, as do more complex nuances of menthol, eucalyptus and incense. (MK)" (6/2016) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Reminding me of a quality St. Joseph from France's Northern Rhone valley, the 2012 Syrah Santa Barbara County (75% Bien Nacido Vineyard and 25% Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard) offers lots lot pepper, olive ta ...Read More »

2013 Smith-Madrone Spring Mountain District Riesling

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Editors’ Choice* From 41-year-old vines on just over five estate acres, this is resiny and briny on the nose. A honey-laced creaminess at the core is tensely accentuated by vibrant acidity. Balanced and elegant, with a sunny bite of ripeness, it revels in nuances of fresh and dried apricot while lighter notes of lemon, lime and grapefruit play backup." (5/2015)

2013 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "Fay" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Fay Estate-Grown comes from a vineyard established by Nathan Fay in 1961. Beautiful blackcurrant, floral-infused fruit jumps from the glass of this dense ruby/purple wine. There are some loamy underpinnings of soil, but the wine is medium to full-bodied, beautifully fruited, with great texture, and terrific purity and personality. This is a serious and beautiful wine to drink over the next 20-25 years, if not longer. (RP)" (12/2016) 95 points Vinous: "Rich, ample and seductive, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Fay is impressive. 2001 d'Yquem, Sauternes

100 points James Suckling: "What a pure wine, with honey, caramel, cooked apple, bon bon, and pear tart. Dried apricots and peaches develop with time in the glass. What a palate, it is very sweet and rich at the impact, but then it’s dense and opulent like a Grand Cru Burgundy, think Montrachet. Apples, honey, and pineapples with hints of mango on the palate. This is an incredible wine, a real dream, a legend. 150 grams of RS." (4/2012) 100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 10,000 cases of this perfect sweet white Bordeaux. 2001 Rieussec, Sauternes (375ml)

100 points James Suckling: "This is a crazy wine! It’s sweet, but not sugary. Mushrooms, furniture wax, spices then dried oranges, lemons, pineapples, and just a hint of vanilla. Full-bodied, with great density and power, yet balanced and refined. So amazing, but give this five to six years still. Pull the cork in 2016. 145 grams RS." (5/2012) 100 points Wine Spectator: "Like lemon curd on the nose, turning to honey and caramel. 2015 Fromm "Cuvée H" Pinot Noir Marlborough

97 points Bob Campbell: "This is Fromm’s new flagship Pinot Noir despite being less expensive than Clayvin and La Strada (the previous two flagships). It’s a blend of five completed single vineyard wines representing 'the best Pinot we feel we can make ... in a style we appreciate most.' The wine is named after winemaker Hatsch Kelberer dedicated to the task of making great wine for 25 years. It’s a taut, powerful wine with impressive fruit purity. Layered flavours are hard to define, perhaps cherry, violet, plum and spicy oak with other savoury nuances in the background. More a ...Read More »

2015 Fromm "Fromm Vineyard" Pinot Noir Marlborough

The nose is elegantly proportioned with firmly concentrated and intense, refined aromas of black-berried fruits and black minerals entwined with notes of liquorice and spices, unfolding a layer of dark herbs, black florals and hints of nutty oak. Medium-full bodied, the palate has intense and concentrated flavours of sweetly ripe black-berried fruits alongside black minerals and liquorice. 2015 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru "Vaillons"

90-93 points Wine Spectator: "The premier cru Vaillons, from 50-year-old vines, was one of my favorites for its ripe elements of peach and apricot, but also flowers, finesse and underlying chalky feel." (1/2017) 92 points John Gilman: "The 2015 Vaillons from the domaine is a touch more fruit-driven in personality than the lovely Montmains this year, though still with a fine vein of chalkiness running from stern to aft. The bouquet delivers a lovely blend of pear, tangerine, chalky soil tones and a topnote of orange blossoms. Brasserie Dieu du Ciel! "Solstice d'Eté" Raspberry Berliner Weisse Style Ale, Canada (341ml)

This sour wheat beer was inspired by traditional German styles. The unboiled wort is intentionally allowed to go sour, encouraging a bright complexity of flavor. There is impressive volume and richness to the seductively textured middle weight flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the sappy, balanced and solidly persistent finish. This too should drink well young." (10/2015) 89-91 points Vinous: "Pure, bright yellow. Aromas of crushed rock and ginger. 2002 Krug "Clos du Mesnil" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (direct from Krug 2018)

It's as powerful as chardonnay can be, showcasing an incredible depth of pure fresh lemons, yellow grapefruit, honey and dried white and yellow flowers. The concentration and complexity of primary fruits are outstanding, and there are some more exotic flavors here too in the peach and green-mango spectrum. 2013 Trimbach Riesling Réserve Alsace

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Pure citrus zest rises from the glass: lovely, ripe lemon and zesty lime. The palate reinforces these flavors in a rapier-like fashion, with drive and energy in a very linear energetic way. This seem like an elixir or a tonic full of vim, all informed by a central dynamic freshness. This has barely blossomed but promises much future pleasure. This genie should be contained in its bottle for a while longer before letting it loose. It's something to look forward to. Superb lift to the aromas of blackberry, violet, licorice and graphite, plus complicating notes of iodine and squid ink. Densely packed and utterly smooth, displaying youthfully imploded fruit and mineral flavors lifted by a floral element and complicated by a saline quality.
