Bright cherry red. Fragrant, graphite and red fruit. Zippy and fresh. Less alcohol and more acid than in 2010. Has that lovely Cabernet Franc freshness that stands out in 2011. Slight and attractive grain to the tannins
A wine with good balance and bright acidity. Lots of orange peel. Medium body, light tannins. Second wine of Nenin.
The 2011 Fugue de Nenin is a straightforward, one-dimensional, but attractive, elegant effort offering berry fruit and leafy herb characteristics as well as an easy-going finish. This blend of 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc should drink well for 6-8 years.
Very ripe Merlot brings with it soft tannins and a richly perfumed character. It is dense but the the opulent fruit dominates. Black plum juice flavors characterize the aftertaste.
A forward and elegant style, with raspberry and cherry coulis notes framed by a supple vanilla bean hint. Not deep, but pretty, offering a gentle finish. Drink now through 2018. (Web-2014)
