2007 La Gerla Brunello di Montalcino "Vigna gli Angeli" Riserva
Spicy oak aromas greet the nose, while concentrated flavors of cherry, currant and tobacco are buried underneath. Very vibrant, with refined tannins and a lingering finish of fruit, spice and mineral. Builds on the finish, with a long aftertaste. A combination of power and finesse. Best from 2015 through 2030. 300 cases imported. —B.S
Intense aromas of dried fruits and Christmas pudding. Turns to plums and raspberries. Full and concentrated with an intense palate of dried fruits and vanilla. Powerful and concentrated style here.
This pretty Brunello riserva shows elegant tones of candied fruit, prune, leather, rum cake and dried rosemary. The wine is smooth and fine, with silky tannins and a elegantly aged quality. Don’t wait too long to drink this wine.

Bright red with a pale rim. Rich aromas of ripe red cherry, aromatic herbs, coffee and cocoa. Then sweet, suave and dense in the mouth, with deep flavors of red cherry, licorice and tobacco lifted by bright, harmonious acidity. Finishes clean and long, with an underpinning of zesty minerality and lemon peel. Much better than the 2007 classico.
