2005 Beauregard, Pomerol (Previously $60)
as complex aromas of ripe blackberry, green olive and sweet tobacco, with Indian spices. Full-bodied, supersilky and refined. Not a huge wine, but everything is in harmony. Best after 2012.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A candidate for the finest wine produced at this chateau, Beauregard’s inky/ruby-colored 2005 offers up sumptuously rich aromas of graphite, smoke, black cherry jam, and cassis. With superb fruit, medium to full body, ripe tannin, and adequate acidity, it can be enjoyed over the next 10-15 years.
Anise and spice on the nose. Some peppery nuances on palate. Very nice wine. Ralph: Very floral, honest and pure purple fruit. Mid-weight, has a lot going for it. Beautifully balanced, and I like it a lot. Poor mans VCC? Steve: Medium bodied with herbs and spice. Not a heavy hitter but good. *
