2009 Kamen "Estate" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) exhibits a dense purple color along with notes of creosote, black currants, blackberries, licorice and a truffle-like aroma. Full-bodied and rich with a layered mouthfeel, this stunning 2009 possesses high, but sweet, well-integrated tannin. It will drink well for 15-20 years. (RP)
Today the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon seems to bring together the best qualities of 2007 and 2008, which is to say it is a gorgeous, elegant wine. Dark red fruit, violets, flowers, tobacco, espresso and spices are all wonderfully alive in the glass. The 2009 is rich and voluptuous, yet backed up by more than enough structural intensity to balance some of the wine's more overt tendencies.
Ripe and fleshy, with supple plum and cherry jam notes that fill out the palate, remaining fresh and lively. Ends with a crushed rock minerality. Drink now through 2023. (Web-2013)
