(made from 70% chardonnay, 23% pinot noir and 7% still pinot noir, all from Bouzy; disgorged May 4, 2012): Bright orange-pink. Vibrant, mineral-accented aromas and flavors of strawberry, cherry and blood orange, with a sexy floral quality gaining strength with air. Shows very good energy and clarity, finishing powerfully, with lingering minerality.
With a bouncy, lively bead and bright acidity, this is open-knit and accessible, offering flavors of black raspberry, kirsch, biscuit and fresh ginger. Delivers a clean, minerally finish. Disgorged May 2012. Drink now through 2016.
This is one of our most delicate and refined rose Champagne and a combination of 70% Chardonnay, 23% Pinot Noir vinified white and 7% Bouzy Rouge Pinot Noir. It is dosed at seven grams per liter and is quite dry. It is made 100% from estate grown fruit from the grand cru of Bouzy on the south facing slopes of the Mountain of Reims and farmed without pesticides. I find this wine subtle and almost haunting, and it goes very, very well with shellfish. If you are a fan of rose Champagne with lobster, you have found your perfect bottle!
