I really enjoy tannat wine and I absolutely love interesting dessert wines so naturally this one caught my eye. Just like a tannat wine, the first thing you notice when you open the bottle or receive your glass is the fragrance. However, I wouldn't say it reminds me of a tannat wine at all. I think the bouquet reminds me of vanilla extract (in alcohol). When you taste it, the very same impression is made. It's got a rather strong vanilla flavor. This wine would make a very interesting flavor enhancer for fresh berries (or even a cobbler), fruit compote, or as part of a champagne cocktail. As a dessert wine, it's a bit difficult to enjoy on its own. I'm really glad I tried it and I want to find ways to enjoy it.
