For those of you searching for a wine that would be much more reasonable than a declassified Bourgogne, you must try, and in quantity, the Les Roches 2007 Touraine Rouge from the Loire Valley. This wine is a blend of Gamay, Cabernet Franc and Cot (the local name for Malbec), and it offers impeccable balance and structure, provides bright tones of dried rose petals, silky tannins, and a finish that is clean and pretty. Do not let the price scare you from trying with wonderful Gem. Anderson has informed me that this will be our house red wine for however long it lasts.
Drink from 2010 to 2012
