2007 La Lecciaia Brunello di Montalcino (Pre-Arrival)
Aromas of black truffles and roses, with dark fruits. Full-bodied, with a solid core of pure fruit and super silky tannins. This has so much class and finesse. Wonderful length too. Better in 2014. Best ever from here." This red is rich and sumptuous, yet well-defined by bright acidity and lovely balance. This frames the cherry, strawberry, spice and tobacco flavors, while the tannins should soften soon. Fine length. Best from 2014 through 2025. 6,500 cases made. –BS
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino needs a lot of time in the glass to find its focus. Once the bouquet opens up the wine reveals pretty red berries intermingled with sweet floral notes, spices, leather and licorice. This is a fairly burly 2007 with considerable structure. A few years of bottle age are needed for some of the angular contours to soften. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024.
