Scharffenberger Mendocino County Brut Rosé
A majority Pinot Noir (54%), this brut rosé has a healthy head of mousse followed by succulent strawberry flavor, bright acidity and a smooth finish. Dark golden-peach in color, it is layered and well-made, and a great value for the quality.
Offers an appealing, racy maturity, with floral raspberry and spicy baked apple aromas and flavors of cherry, graham cracker and creamy ginger. Drink now.
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
54% pinot noir and 46% chardonnay): Light peach skin color, with a slow bead. Musky orange peel and herb aromas, with a hint of white chocolate. Fleshy, weighty and smooth in texture, offering ripe citrus and pit fruit flavors and a touch of green cardamom. Slightly loose-knit but packs a punch, finishing with an echo of candied orange and lingering sweetness.
Scharffenberger's "Brut Rosé Excellence" is made in the méthode traditionnelle.
