2008 Passopisciaro Passopisciaro Sicily IGT
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2008 Passopisciaro emerges with gorgeous textural richness in its elegant, silky tannins. Despite its considerable concentration, the wine literally floats on the palate with layers of perfumed red fruits. Everything is perfectly balanced in this harmonious, utterly impeccable wine. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022. (93+)
*Cellar Selection* Passopisciaro is the name of a tiny town on the slopes of Mount Etna in the heart of the volcano’s most celebrated wine area. Tuscan nobleman Andrea Franchetti bought property here many years ago and now leads a charge for quality wines from this unique site in southern Italy. His expression is nuanced and complex, with firmly polished tannins and bright end notes of wild berry, crushed stone and dried rosemary.
