Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Rosé Champagne
A lively sparkling rosé, with a bright, citrusy overtone to fruit-forward flavors of strawberry puree and black raspberry, showing accents of biscuit, walnut skin and gumdrop. Drink now through 2016.
More overt in its fruit than the typical French bottling and a bit closer to the California model, Feuillatte's Rosé tilts top cherries and plums with a suggestion of juiciness beneath its very proper yeast veneer. It is more crisp than creamy, and it is enlivened by a strong but refined mousse, and, while it is crafted in a more obvious style than most of its Gallic kin, it is tasty stuff and very much succeeds in its aims.

Light orange. High-pitched aromas of tangerine and cherry pit, with a subtle yeasty accent. Juicy and fresh, with brisk acidity to its red fruit flavors. Firmly structured but a bit tart on the finish. Nicely taut but could use more flesh.

An onion skin pink is an attractive start to this fresh, red fruited wine. It is crisp, but not bone dry, having a soft texture. There is a fine balance of acidity of fruit, giving a light-bodied wine good as an apéritif.
This rosé is made from 60% Pinot Noir, 30% Meunier and 10% Chardonnay. It has great fruit on the nose and the Pinot Noir mark is strong in this elegant bottle of bubbles. It is quite dry and light for a wine with this much flavor. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)
