2006 Les Forts de Latour, Pauillac (Pre-Arrival)
90-92 points Robert Parker: "Latour’s second wine, the 2006 Les Forts de Latour, a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, does not possess the depth of its bigger sibling. Nevertheless, it offers sweet, ripe berry fruit, crushed rock, smoke, and earth characteristics along with good precision and savoriness. It should drink nicely for 15-20 years." (04/07) 89-91 points Wine Spectator: "Very solid, with an excellent core of fruit and chewy tannins, but not too aggressive. Full body. Medium finish. Well done." (03/07) K&L's notes - 70% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot. Clyde had a hard time tasting this wine (perhaps palate fatigue at 7 pm after 11 hours of tasting?) Very good, deep purple color. Closed on the nose. Seems quite rich and tannic? Will taste again in June. *+? Ralph Sands: Deep rich old-vine cabernet sweetness, very long and no question, very good! AB: Lean, spicy, bight wine. Please note - 2006 Bordeaux futures are not in stock, but will arrive between Jan 2009 and July 2009. We will contact you for shipping instructions.
