Prévoteau-Perrier "Tradition" Brut Champagne
Prévoteau-Perrier is a 30-hectare family estate in the village of Damery, just a few miles from Epernay. They place a strong emphasis on traditional, sustainable viticulture which ultimately shows through in the quality of the wine. The "Tradition" bottling is a clear expression of the house style, as a blend of three consecutive vintages (including 20-30% reserve wines) which is bottle fermented for a minimum of two years. The varietal composition is slightly unusual, with a component of 50% Pinot Meunier, 35% Pinot Noir, and 15% Chardonnay. The grapes are pressed more lightly than is typical, rendering about 20% less juice. The results are a freshly aromatic and fruit-driven Champagne with some round and yeasty bass notes.
