2007 Angélus, St-Emilion (Pre-Arrival)
90-93 points Robert Parker. 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "There is good density here, a wine that seems well balanced and integrated. It has a solid, firm kernel, but this is balanced with great fresh acidity as well as blackberry fruits. The wine still seems to be coming together after bottling, still needs 4-5 years." (04/10) 89-92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Superripe aromas of plum, kirsch, violet and chocolate. Fat and soft but with lovely freshness and good depth to its flavors of black cherry, cassis, licorice and bitter chocolate. Finishes with big, tongue-dusting tannins, a note of licorice, and excellent length for the year. No shortage of power here..." (May/June '08) K&L's notes - Sweet and lush - big wine.Tannic at back. Superb. Better here than at UGC. At UGC wine was difficult to taste. Judgement reserved. At the property the wine showed great (as usual) with red fruits and red licorice on the palate. They did lots of work in the vineyards this year and it paid off. More elegant than 2005 and 2006 and will be ready to drink sooner. 62% merlot and 38% cab franc. Somewhat in the style of 2001. Please note - 2007 Bordeaux futures are not in stock, but will arrive between Jan 2010 and Dec 2010. We will contact you for shipping instructions.
