Flavors of cherries and pomegranate develop in this wine; they build past the coffee-scented oak and add a little brashness to the sandy-textured tannin. The feel of that tannin is distinctly Margaret River shiraz, hinting at ocean sand and sea spray. Serve it with slow-braised pork shoulder.
Deep red with a bright rim. Peppery red berry and blackcurrant aromas are complicated by graphite, violet and roasted coffee. Sharply focused red and dark berry flavors are given a spicy kick by cracked pepper and firmed by juicy acidity. Turns sweeter with air and finishes with gentle grip and lingering red fruit qualities. Offers very good energy and cut: I'd bet that this will reward at least a few more years in the cellar.
Good hue, although light; crisp, light- to medium-bodied palate which is lively but not deep; lunch/picnic style.
The 2005 Siblings Shiraz is dark ruby/purple-colored with a fragrant perfume of spicy blue fruits. On the palate it exhibits an elegant personality with racy dark fruits, mineral, spice box, and lively acidity. The wine is nicely balanced and persistent in the finish. Drink it over the next six years.
Prominent vanilla notes envelop ripe plum and mixed berry notes on the nose, giving way to raspberry flavors on the palate. Tannins are muted but crisp acidity gives a lift to the slightly dusty finish. It's an easy-to-drink, uncomplicated Shiraz meant for near-term consumption.
