A pinot that is full of character, with deeply ripe boysenberry, raspberry, cassis and wild, sappy, herbal notes, the oak adding spice in just the right proportion. On the palate there's a handy balance of tannin push and fruit flesh, allowing the wine to climb nicely and releases through the finish right on cue. Drink now.

Medium to deep ruby-colored, the 2010 Pinot Noir displays a slight reduction on the nose to begin before giving way with aerating to notes of black cherries, black raspberries and mulberries, plus hints of tar, coffee and anise. Medium to full-bodied and more elegant in the mouth than the nose suggests, it offers a fine array of red and blackberry flavors with a good backbone of medium level, grainy tannins, lively acid, and a long finish with a pleasant herbal lift.
