2008 Bodegas Muriel Reserva Rioja (Elsewhere $20)
**Top 50 Wines of 2013** - Menthol and eucalyptus on the nose. More classic aromas come through with aeration. Savoury, traditional style with toasted nuts and coffee, delicate coconut and ripe, baked plum fruit. A great, classic Rioja. Complex and intriguing.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2008 Reserva just feels very Rioja, with notes of leather, cedar, cigar box and a core of red and black fruit. The palate is fresh, with very good acidity, clean flavors and good persistence and length. This Reserva delivers very good value. Drink 2014-2018. (LG)
Black cherry, chocolate, licorice and raisin flavors mingle in this round red. The tannins are softening, but the balsamic acidity maintains freshness.
