Light gold. Strong citrus and mineral aromas pick up kerosene and floral qualities with air. Pliant orange and apple flavors display very good depth and a smoky mineral undertone. The smokiness and minerality gain strength on the sappy, persistent finish. Already attractive.
Dusty lime up front shifts to cider apple flavors in the finish, where the flavors last. It's briny and light. For crab stew.
The 2007 Riesling is light straw-colored with green overtones. It offers an excellent perfume of lemon-lime, spring flower garden, and grapefruit. Crisp and dry on the palate, guava and pineapple emerge to add complexity.
Smells just gorgeous, combining classic lime sherbet notes with hints of petrol and fleurs blanches. But in the mouth it lacks the same finesse, and shows a riper, chunkier character that leans toward pineapple and peach. It's still very good, but don't expect it to age well past 5 or 6 years.
