Moet & Chandon "Imperial" Brut Rosé Champagne

SKU #996609 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Bright orange-pink. Spicy cherry, red berries, blood orange and five-spice powder on the perfumed nose. Fleshy but dry, boasting excellent energy to its bitter cherry, redcurrant and floral pastille flavors. Finishes smooth and fleshy, with very good breadth and cling. The turnaround over the last few years at this house, now under the guidance of chef de cave Benoit Gouez, has been remarkable. (12/2013)

90 points Wine Spectator

This subtle rosé is notable more for balance and fine texture than the quiet flavor profile of ripe currant and berry fruit, candied kumquat, biscuit and ginger. A note of smoke-tinged minerality chimes in on the finish. (12/2014)

Wine & Spirits

Deep pink in color, this has the sweetness of baked strawberries and rhubarb, turning toward austere, bitter leesiness in the finish. Serve it with rare roast beef. (12/2014)

Wine Enthusiast

This is a ripe, lightly pink-colored wine, full of red fruits as well as crisp acidity. It is soft, with a gentle creamy mousse that rounds out in the mouth. It’s ready to drink, leaving a warm while fresh aftertaste. (12/2014)

K&L Notes

Finalist, Ultimate Wine Challenge 2013, and 92 points: "Aromas are rich and slightly toasted, reminiscent of freshly baked rolls. Bright flavors of cherries and rhubarb fill the mouth with a deep yeasty finish. Bubbles are small and compact, producing a smooth mousse and overall soft mouthfeel. Delicious."
