Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Réserve Champagne (Previously $30.00)
This balanced Champagne is ripe and juicy, with crème de cassis and Honeycrisp apple fruit flavors accented by details of honey, smoke and biscuit. A fresh and creamy aperitif. Drink now through 2018. (AN)
Fairly light in most every aspect and leaning in the direction of a Blanc de Blancs, this slender, crisply balanced bottling comes with scattered touches of minerals and chalk but is essentially reserved and restrained. It hits all of the right Champenoise marks without being emphatic in any, and it earns the nod for its refinement and well-polished style.
Light yellow. Lemon zest, white pepper and a touch of mint on the nose. Dry and spicy, with a slightly rigid quality to its bitter citrus pith and quince flavors. On the tart side, with the white pepper note repeating on the nervy finish. (JR)
One of the best-selling Champagnes in the world, this is a blend of the three main Champagne grapes. It is elegant and fruity, with a soft, balanced character that makes it very drinkable. White fruits are cut with lemon acidity that gives a lively, crisp aftertaste. (RV)
