The nose displays a dominantly mineral character, with toasty, subtly smoky almond running a close second. As the label states, this is a lighter, more delicate Fino; it has only a dash of the yeasty, flor quality of some other from the Lustau line. There is good richness to the mid-palate, which then makes a hair-pin turn to light, brisk and refreshing on the finish, and offers suggestions, more than distinct flavors, of apple and lemon juice. If you're looking to get better acquainted with dry sherries, I'd reckon this would be a good place to start; it bears perhaps a slightly closer resemblance to white wine generally than to other Finos that, to taste and smell, couldn't-be-anything-else-but-Sherry. I suspect you could serve it blind at a party and people unwittingly enjoy it the more for not knowing that it was Sherry.
