2011 Domaine de la Tournelle "Fleur de Savagnin" Arbois

SKU #1169289

Domaine de la Tournelle was established in 1991 with less than a hectare of vines. Founders Evelyne and Pascal Clairet are dedicated to land, eschewing herbicides, chemical fungicides and insecticides, getting certified biodynamic by Demeter. They also don't use commercial yeasts or new oak and limit their use of SO2. They have grown the property now to six hectares, all planted to regional varietals. This is a great introduction to the wines of the Jura. Made from Savagnin, the region's most celebrated varietal, but in a fresh, clean, non-oxidative style. It's approachable, expressive of the Jura's distinctive terroir and unbelievably delicious.

An absolute stunner. The perfect crossover to get your friends who are afraid of Jura into this very special category. The complexity and focus is unparalleled for this style. While it's aged for years in barrel, there's only the slightest nutty oxidized aroma. The freshness and purity is unlike anything else. Don't think, just drink.
