2013 Carbonnieux Blanc, Graves (Pre-Arrival)
A very tangy and bright white with intense white peach, grapefruit and mineral character. Full body, crisp acidity. Gorgeous. One of the best Carbonnieux ever.
Barrel Sample. A rich and rounded wine, this shines with pineapple and citrus flavors. It is full-bodied and likely to age well, with a mineral texture.
Barrel Tasting. This has an open, high-pitched feel, with chalk and quinine out front, followed by lovely savory, straw, verbena and white peach notes. A mouthwatering white. (Web-2014)

Pale straw-yellow. Fresh aromas of bitter grapefruit and white flowers complicated by minerals and aromatic herbs. Then richer and deeper in the mouth than the nose suggests, with white stone fruit and gooseberry flavors that carry nicely on the back end. The wine's lively acidity and hint of tannic bitterness will have you scrambling for food.
Chalky notes provide the backbone for white peach, pear, jasmine and sage in the 2013 Carbonnieux Blanc. An energetic, vibrant wine, the Blanc offers lovely complexity and nuance.
Very attractive wax and vanilla flavours – a real classic white bordeaux nose. Lots to enjoy here – sweet citrus fruit, bright acid and plenty of herbal character too. Long finish with an attractive chewy texture. No shortcomings of the vintage discernible here! (RH)
