2013 Avinyó "Vi d'Agulla" Petillant Penedès

SKU #1157744

Made from 80% Petit Grain Muscat and 20% Macabeu from vines up to 50 years old in the Penedes region, best known for Cava (Avinyo also makes good Cavas) this is a delicious, thirst quenching wine that hints at Muscat's floral, and herbal, tarragon like qualities, but also shows great cut, with delicious citrus fruits, refreshing fizziness, and a dry finish that begs another (large) sip. An ideal warmer weather wine to slake your thirst! (Joe Manekin, K&L Spanish wine buyer)

Those who know me would not be surprised one single bit that I love this wine! An unusual blend of 80% Muscat a Petits Grains and 20% Macabeu, it shows pretty apricot, grape and citrus, with great minerality which balances its slight hints of sweetness. Crazy drinkable--fantastic! I would absolutely serve this with nibbly bits--appetizers--on my warm patio, at brunch with a cheese souffle, alongside a roasted chicken or with some spicy seafood Pad Thai--or just the good company of my loved ones! Better watch out--I might buy it all before you do!
