2010 La Croix de Queynac, Bordeaux
This flirts with overripe, offering smashed fig and plum notes that flirt with a gushy feel along the edges, while dark espresso and cocoa weave in and out. There's just enough spine to keep this going. (Web-2013)
La Croix de Queynac is located northwest of Lalande de Pomerol in the commune of Galgon on the Right Bank, where the soils are composed of sediment and clay. Thus it is has the ideal terroir for estate vineyards planted to primarily Merlot, with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The style is approachable, ripe and flavorful, tailored to suit the modern palate.
