2011 Secoli Valpolicella Ripasso

SKU #1153878

Made from the three historic Valpolicella varietals Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara, Secoli's Ripasso bottling features a dark ruby color and a voluptuous texture with a line of chocolately depth enriching the red fruited profile. Although ripasso winemaking is traditional in the region, Ripasso Della Valpolicella only received its DOC status in 2009. In the process, the wine that is made by conventional means and already fermented is soaked with the grape skins of the newly pressed Amarone in the winemaking cellar. Thus a new fermentation is begun and the wine gains additional richness and body.
