2011 Chante Cigale Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Moving to the reds, and a beautiful 2011 that shows the best of the vintage, the 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape offers up loads of Asian spices, kirsch, ground herbs and cedar in a medium-bodied, sweetly fruity and balanced package. Complex and already drinking great, it should evolve gracefully for 8-10 years. Drink now-2021.
For over 10 years now we've been bringing in Chante Cigale Chateauneuf-du-Pape and we're happy to now offer the 2011. Cigale farms vineyards of all 13 varietals, and the 2011 CNP is crafted from Grenache, Syrah, Mourvédre and Cinsault growing on fantastic pebbly/sandy soil. The property has been in the Jourdan family since 1874 and has been managed by their new generation since 2006. The young and talented Alexandre Favier has been coaxing incredibly good wines at fantastic prices and we hope he continues using his talents for years to come. 15% abv.
