2011 Domaine Louis Jadot (Duc de Magenta) Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Garenne" (Pre-Arrival)
Allen Meadows - Burghound
A really lovely nose is comprised of acacia blossom, lemon rind, wet stone and ripe pear scents. There is fine volume to the attractively concentrated and textured medium-bodied flavors that display plenty of the hallmark minerality, particularly on the intense, moderately austere and citrus-infused finish. There is good balance save for a touch of warmth but overall, this is quite good.
The 2011 Puligny-Montrachet La Garenne blossoms from the glass with gorgeous textural richness and depth, yet at the same time retains gorgeous freshness and finesse. A layered, totally inviting wine, the 2011 captures the early accessibility of the year while maintaining terrific persistence and depth. The combination of the richness of the vintage and the underlying minerality of the year is immensely pleasing.

Good pale yellow. Cool aromas of citrus fruits and noble herbs, with an emerging oaky element. Dense, pliant and supple but also juicy and precise, with flavors of lemon, lime and vanillin oak accented by minerals and spices. Finishes with spice, resin and lemon notes and very good floral persistence. This has the balance to permit early enjoyment.
