The 2011 Chardonnay Unfiltered exhibits notes of white peaches and honeysuckle, a beautiful, medium to full-bodied texture, superb purity, good acidity and a sensual finish. (RP)
A good, straightforward Chardonnay with ripe, tropical fruit and pear flavors. It's creamy and oaky, but brightened with crisp acidity.

This Chardonnay, which Robert Parker has described as "...one of the benchmark, French-styled, full malolactic and unfiltered Chardonnays in Napa Valley," (10/2013) is sourced both from the Carneros at the southern end of Napa Valley, and from Knight's Valley, which is mainly in Sonoma County, in the north. Tasting note and food pairing tips from the winery: "This perennial favorite has a silky, creamy texture with just a hint of oak. Ripe tropical fruit, pear and green apple flavors are complemented by notes of lemon custard, vanilla bean and baking spice. A touch of flint and minerality further add to its refined elegance. Fresh steamed crab dipped in clarified butter would be an unbeatable match for our Unfiltered Chardonnay. It is equally delicious with quiche, crab cakes with lemon aioli and a range of cheeses. Or try it with a Cobb salad—the chicken, blue cheese and avocado combination will partner wonderfully with this wine.
