2010 Paloma Napa Valley Merlot
Plush, with red currant and toasty oak aromas and rich black cherry, mocha and olive flavors that finish with supple tannins. Drink now through 2019.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Notes of mocha, black cherry liqueur, plum sauce and a hint of Asian spices jump from the glass of Paloma’s dark ruby-colored 2010 Merlot. Soft and round, this is a textbook Merlot for drinking now and over the next 6-7 years. (RP)
The 2010 vintage of Paloma's famed Merlot combines a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon with estate-grown Merlot fruit. The wine is fermented in 33% new French oak, where it is aged for 18 months. It spends another 18 months aging in bottle before release. As expected, the wine is rich, sleek and supple, with loads of wild berry fruit, oak spice, coffee and chocolate notes.
