Sicily is going through a rebirth when it comes to wine, and all over Sicily innovative producers are using indigenous varieties to coax Sicilian flavors out of their soil. The wines of Sicilian brothers Gunther und Klaus Di Giovanna are a perfect example. These are wines with character, balance, weight and a unique expression of their varietals rarely seen. Their Great Grandfather first planted here in 1860 and their father Aurelio reorganized the estate in 1985. The vineyards cover 1150 feet to over 2700 feet in elevation. Their Grillo has to be the best in production. In their hands, this varietal often destined for Marsala sees a remarkable transformation into a vibrant white wine. All of the Di Giovanna wines are organically certified.

You will be so surprised at how racy and fresh this Grillo is...I sure was! It's all minerals and palate-cleansing acidity, with light citrus aromas and flavors and a saline finish. Excellent aperitif wine.

The Di Giovanna Grillo is harvested at night, fermented in stainless steel and left on the fine lees for six months, this allows the wine to gain finesse, complexity and a bit of palate weight. It is one of the finest Grillo I have ever tasted.
