90 points Wine Spectator

A concentrated and expressive Aglianico that delivers a core of blackberry and plum skin preserves, mocha, grilled herb and smoke notes wrapped in firm tannins. Hints of mushroom and olive fill the finish. Drink now through 2017. (Web Only- 2011)

89 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Bright ruby. Aromas of black cherry, raspberry, licorice, dried flowers and coffee are currently a bit stunted by oak. Sweet and rather soft on entry, then nicely stuffed with energetic red fruit and earthy flavors in the middle. The broad finish features some slightly drying oak tannins and a repeating note of coffee. (3/2011)
