2009 Grgich Hills "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
There’s lots of richness to this Cabernet, a testimony to the sunny ripeness of the vintage. It bursts with flavors of cassis and blackberry and blueberry jam, complemented by the toasty, smoky butteriness of oak barrels. It’s a lovely wine to drink now with upscale fare.

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a big, fruity Cabernet with good body and depth... Sweet, spicy notes add shades of nuance on the finish. (AG)

Dark, bright red. Dark berries, licorice, coffee and mocha on the nose. Juicy and nicely delineated, with vibrant red fruit flavors complicated by coffee, mocha, smoke and earth. Conveys an impression of more even ripeness than the 2008 version. Finishes with a light dusting of firm tannins and very good length and lift. This should evolve nicely. (ST)
Exhibits a trim mix of cedar, cigar box and tobacco, woven in with dried berry and ending with chewy tannins. Very good in this style. (JL)
