 Not surprisingly this is aromatically similar to the regular cuvée but here there is an evident touch of wood along with a more pronounced emphasis on floral nuances. By contrast, the intensity, size, weight and power of the flavors all go up a notch and there is an impressive amount of old vines extract that buffers the firm acid spine on the explosively long, saline-infused and bone dry finish.  The 2010 Chablis Mont de Milieu has turned out beautifully. A gentle hint of spices from the oak frames layers of gorgeous, nuanced fruit. The 2010 shows the depth of the low yields with the minerality of a cool vintage and a finish that is both huge and seemingly endless. It is a marvelous, complete wine that can be enjoyed now or cellared. This is a great showing from Samuel Billaud. Anticipated maturity: 2012+.  (8/2012)
