 The sparkling wines include the 2010 Kila Cava, a blend of 35% Macabeo, 30% Xarel-lo, 20% Parellada and 15% Chardonnay. A sensational value, it tips the scales at 11.5% alcohol. Light-bodied and frothy with small bubbles, it was aged one year in the bottle prior to being released. This tasty, crisp, effervescent 2010 should be consumed over the next 6-12 months. I am glad to see the coop is now vintage-dating this cuvee so readers are assured of purchasing the freshest bottlings.  (4/2012)

 *Best Buy* For an under-$10 sparkling wine, this is pretty darn good. Lemon-lime and apple aromas feature a touch of yeast and scrambled egg. The mouthfeel is fresh, while flavors of apple, pear and melon set up a persistent finish.  (6/2013)
