2007 Argiano Brunello di Montalcino

The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino is rich, deep and resonant. It shows fabulous depth and richness, with seemingly endless layers of fruit that caress the palate. Dark red cherries, savory herbs, tobacco and licorice linger on the textured, creamy finish. This is another terrific effort from Argiano. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2027.
Blueberry and plum, with lemon rind and flowers. Full body, with chewy tannins and a bright finish. Lemon rind character. Drink now.
There's density to this red, with richness punctuated by cedar, cherry, balsamic and tobacco flavors. Well-proportioned and delineated, lingering on the finish. Best from 2014 through 2023.

Good full medium red. Sexy aromas and flavors of plum, mocha, underbrush, spices and tobacco, with a lavender topnote. Smoky, sweet and fine-grained; not yet especially complex but shows lush, sweet, velour-like fruit, noteworthy depth, and good energy for the year. The sappy, smoky finish features some enticing oak spices. Has plenty of tannins for mid-term aging but this is already accessible.
Youthful, oak-driven Brunello that needs more time to integrate. Plum, ripe fruit with chewy, rich density. Blackberry, prune, plum and cherry. Spice, leather and tobacco too. Still shows some tightness or sharpness in the mouth.
