2010 Landmark "Overlook" Sonoma Chardonnay
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2010 Chardonnay Overlook bursts from the glass with juicy apricots, honeysuckle, lemon and pear. Floral notes appear later, adding lift and freshness. The raciness of the cold harvest comes through beautifully in the wine’s vibrant finish. Landmark’s Overlook Chardonnay is one the finest wines in its price range and production level (there are 12,200 cases of the 2010). Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015.

Bright yellow. Peach nectar and pear on the perfumed nose and in the mouth. Lush and palate-coating, with good finishing cling, persistent spiciness and a touch of warmth.
Complex, if on a modest scale, with easy-drinking apple, pear and honeydew melon flavors. (Web Only- 2012)
From the winery: " Each lot is lightly whole cluster pressed, allowed to settle for a day and placed into 100% French oak barrels where it spontaneously ferments without the addition of cultured yeast. The barrels are stirred twice a month to round out the wine and build texture. On the nose, the wine has notes of brioche, preserved lemon, vanilla, and white peach. This unfiltered medium weight Chardonnay features flavors of citrus, sweet oat straw, grilled nectarine, and white chocolate followed by nutmeg spice and a hint of oak toast."
