Wine Advocate wrote of the 2010 vintage: "The 2010 Verdicchio di Matelica is a clean, crisp white laced with green apples, citrus and flowers, all of which flow through nicely to the clean, vibrant finish. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014."

We were incredibly successful with the 2010 vintage of this wine, and I was quite sad to see it come to an end. However, I'm super stoked to say the 2011 is even better. Whereas the 2010 was a little softer with riper, more opulent fruit, the 2011 comes across with a more zesty, refreshing crispness, with the fruit flavors tending more towards lemon and orange zest as opposed to the more melon-y, almost tropical fruit profile of the previous vintage. More spicy herbaceousness, minerality and crunchy acidity as well. If the 2010 was worthy of a $20+ dollar price tag and an absolute steal at this price, the 2011 is even more so. CM
