2011 Peter Michael "L'Apres Midi" Knights Valley Sauvignon Blanc
One of my long-time favorites in this range, the 2011 Sauvignon Blanc L'Apres-Midi is gorgeous in this vintage. Citrus lychee, jasmine, melon, fig, smoke, and pear notes all flesh out in the glass. The 2011 is impeccably layered and balanced from start to finish. Hints of lemon oil and white flowers add brightness on the crisp, bracing finish. The blocked malo style works particularly well here. The 2011 is 95% Sauvignon (1/3rd Musque) and 5% Semillon. (AG)
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Composed of 96% Sauvignon Blanc and 4% Semillon, there are 1,875 cases of the 2011 Sauvignon Blanc L’Apres Midi, which reveals copious notes of flowers, white currants, figs and melons in its medium-bodied, delicious, seductive personality. Drink it over the next several years. (RP)

Green-tinged gold. Tangerine, poached pear, vanilla and anise aromas are sharpened and lifted by a hint of candied ginger. Supple, sweet and succulent on the palate, with ripe citrus, orchard fruit and melon flavors energized by smoky minerality. Very complex wine, finishing smooth and broad, with outstanding length and lingering smokiness. (ST)
Vividly floral, with vibrant acidity punctuating the fresh ginger, lime zest, lemon, tangerine and fleshy mango flavors. Features a smooth body, displaying plenty of nuance and elegance. (MW)
Peter Michael's Knights Valley estate, located in a remote valley in the northeastern corner of Sonoma County in between Alexander Valley and Napa Valley, is renowned for Bordeaux blends and Chardonnay. This Sauvignon Blanc is a critic's choice, as well.
