High West "American Prairie Reserve" Bourbon Whiskey (750ml)

SKU #1110688

High West is dedicated to preserving and promoting the American West, that's why they've created a whiskey dedicated to one of the greatest land preservation projects of our time: the American Prairie Reserve in Montana, a 5000 square mile land tract the size of Connecticut restored to what Lewis and Clark would have seen. High West will donate 10% of after tax profits from each bottle to the American Prairie Foundation. This is a marriage of two straight Bourbon whiskies: 6 year old Bourbon distilled and aged at the old Seagrams plant in Lawrenceberg Indiana with a mashbill from 75% Corn, 20% rye, 5% barley malt and a 10 year old Bourbon distilled by Four Roses with a mashbill from 60% Corn, 35% rye, and 5% barley malt. The result is another drinkable, "frontier style" whiskey from High West who are doing a fantastic job of creating a house style with other people's whiskey. Lots of sweet baking spices, soft wood, and keen richness. Delish.

The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world. - With the explosive growth that California's wine industry has seen the past several years, it's easy to view winemaking and grape growing in the Golden State as a recent phenomenon. And while it's true that California's viticultural history is brief compared to several European countries, this state's roots date back well over 200 years. Due to the enormous response to California wine within the United States and worldwide, there are thousands of excellent and diverse wines being produced within the state each year.
