2009 Bibi Graetz "Soffocone di Vincigliata" Toscana
*Highly Recommended* Plenty of cherry, plum, tobacco and earthy underbrush flavors mesh beautifully with the tightly grained fabric of this sophisticated red, which is approachable now, yet should become even more mellow with time. The finish is long and fresh. Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino. Drink now through 2022.

Bright dark red. Sexy aromas of tangy red berries, Oriental spices, espresso and flowers. Then creamy but very fresh on the palate, with expressive, very pure flavors of raspberry and strawberry. The smooth, long finish boasts lovely sweetness and verve. This wine also strikes me as being less massive than some past vintages.
This is a special expression of Sangiovese (and a small amount of Cannaiolo) with a pure, luminous quality aided by subtle aromas of forest berry, white licorice, cola and pressed lavender. It’s an elegant wine from start to finish.

The 2009 Soffocone di Vincigliata is a pleasant, mid weight wine graced with sweet dark cherries, flowers, licorice and tobacco, all of which meld together nicely. The wine shows excellent mid-palate sweetness along with a round, inviting finish. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2017.
