Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A fabulous introduction to the Domaine/Mount Eden Pinots, the 2010 Pinot Noir is flat-out beautiful in the way it captures the essence of the Santa Cruz Mountains and the house style. Sweet dark cherries, flowers, mint and herbs caress the palate. There is a purity of fruit that is stunning in its beauty. Partial use of whole clusters (20%) gives the wine much of its fragrance, but ultimately the Domaine Eden bottling is all about class. At $35 it represents one of the very finest buys in Pinot Noir from anywhere, including the hallowed vineyards of Burgundy. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020. Mount Eden is one of the United States' great heritage estates. The Chardonnays and Pinots have a track record for aging spectacularly well.

Wine & Spirits
A cool, foresty red, this has the richness of the Santa Cruz Mountains redwood forest floor. It's soft and earthy rather than powerfully structured, a spicy, juicy red to serve with braised pork.

Wine Spectator
Sleek and trim, this medium-weight red is spicy and complex on a modest scale, with cherry and raspberry, ending with a pleasant minerally note. Drink now through 2018.

K&L Notes
If the name and locale for this domaine seem oddly familiar, it's for good reason. Domaine Eden was purchased by K&L favorite Mount Eden back in 2007, though the estate was founded in 1983 by Tom Mudd, who modeled it after the famous estate. This Pinot Noir cuvée consists of a combination of clonal selections grown at this sustainably farmed estate, including Dijon, Calera, Swan, and Mount Eden's own clonal selection. The wine was fermented on native yeasts, barrel-aged in French oak, and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
