2010 Carpineti "Collesante" Lazio Bianco

SKU #1086570

From one of the most significant and famous estates of Lazio, only 45 minutes outside of Rome, comes this absolutely delicous white wine made from a local, nearly extinct grape called Arciprete (in turn a clone of an almost equally obscure grape called Bellone). Very aromatic, remeniscent of a well made Malvasia, with pretty peach, apricot blossom and a hint of wild fennel in the nose, and a rich, zesty mouthfeel. The estate is actually a large organic farm, where they make olive oil, cheese and other foodstuffs in addition to the wine, but Marco Carpineti considers the later the jewel of his crown.
