2008 d'Angelo Aglianico del Vulture

SKU #1085072

According to Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " The estate remains a reference point for Basilicata." (06/2011) There is no more serious red in Basilicata than Aglianico del Vulture. It ranks right up there with Barolo, Brunello and Taurasi, the last of which is also based on the Aglianico grape, the undisputed king of Italy's southern provinces and one of the oldest continually grown wine grapes of the world. Rich and deep, with dark red and black fruit, plenty of structure and wonderful tannin and acidity, this is a red to go with roasted meats. Don't let the price fool you, D'Angelo's Aglianico is no simple quaffer!
