This charming Vouvray comes to us as a direct import, making possible the attractive price ($11.99 for Vouvray?). Sourced from from various plots planted on calcareous soils within the Vouvray region, this 100% Chenin Blanc was produced by the venerable Cave de Producteurs de Vouvray cooperative, located just east of Tours in the "Vallée Coquette," between the villages of Rochecorbon and Vouvray. With such creamy, honeyed and fruity aromas on the nose and flavors of biscuit and lemon curd on the palate, the drying, mineral-accented finish comes as very refreshing surprise. This is just the thing for a get together with friends (especially if said get together involves a cheese plate featuring aged goat and the blue Fourme d'Ambert); the combination of fruit, body, acidity makes this wine a real crowd-pleaser!
