Kuchan Alembic Brandy (750ml)

SKU #1064836

I've long known that Davorin Kuchan was making the best mixing brandy available in nearby Belmont. When I through a cocktail party a while back, I made a Fishhouse Punch Bowl with a test batch of his Alembic Brandy and everyone went crazy for it (some a little too crazy!). Getting him to bottle it though and sell it at K&L took a little more persistence, but we finally did it and we're proud to now offer it to our most passionate cocktail afficionados. The reason the Kuchan Alembic excells where most Cognacs and other mid-priced brandies don't is the kick of the flavor. While delicious if sipped on its own, the Kuchan Brandy is a more fiery elixer and drinks like the Sidecar need a bit of heft to cut through the other ingredients. Mixologists world-wide are always in search of a great, high-quality base brandy and now Davorin has given them one. Made from locally-grown Zinfandel grapes, this is truly a California brandy worth your time. -David Driscoll, K&L Spirits Buyer

United States

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world. - With the explosive growth that California's wine industry has seen the past several years, it's easy to view winemaking and grape growing in the Golden State as a recent phenomenon. And while it's true that California's viticultural history is brief compared to several European countries, this state's roots date back well over 200 years. Due to the enormous response to California wine within the United States and worldwide, there are thousands of excellent and diverse wines being produced within the state each year.
