2009 Domaine de la Ferme Saint Martin "Terres Jaunes" Beaumes de Venise Rouge

SKU #1060137

This organic combination of grenache and syrah displays a very expressive and pure taste of berry fruit with hints of minerals and spice. Meant to drink while young and fresh, this is a very pure and delightful example of fruit-forwardness, with finesse to boot. Bottled unfiltered. Guy Jullien is the owner of this small domaine, located in the beautifully scenic Beaume de Venise appellation of the southern Rhone. This delightful rhone is not only delicious but a fantastic value as well, thanks to K&L's direct import. 14% abv.

Beautiful, classic Rhone aromatics of sweet black raspberry and flowers upfront, this rouge surprises you with an elegant and long finish of bright blue fruits and violettes. Coupled with an amazingly silky palate, this Beaume de Venise is a steal at $14.99!!!

A great Beaumes de Venise from an outstanding vintage! This blend of grenache and syrah has bright, red fruits, spice and just a hint of minerality. Fleshy and fruit-forward, yet balanced and elegant. This beauty is organic and unfilterd. Drinking well now. A fantastic bargain!

Always a favorite of mine. Brighter and more focused than most Cotes du Rhones. The fruit a surprising purity and the tannins have a softer polished feel.

- When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Click for a list of bestselling items from all of France.

- Legendary wine-producing region in southeast France. Stereotypically speaking, Rhone wines are high in alcohol, and the majority produced is red. The northern Rhone is best known for outstanding 100% Syrah wines from areas such as Cote Rotie and Hermitage, as well as for fabulous white wines from Condrieu (where Viognier is king). In the southern Rhone, look for spicy, full-bodied wines that are blends of Grenache, Syrah, and other varietals coming from appellations such as Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, or Rasteau. Wines labeled as Cote du Rhone or Cotes du Rhone Village (a cut above generic Cotes du Rhone) are frequently found here in the US because they often represent some of the best values on the market.
