2006 Hall Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
*Highly Recommended and Top 100 Wines of 2010* A rich, dense, concentrated style, this is full-bodied, focused and pure, with hints of mocha and black licorice rounding out the core currant, plum and black cherry flavors. Focused and persistent, with a long finish. Drink now through 2017.
Pure and fruity with pretty currant and blueberry aromas and just a hint of sandalwood. Full body, with a round and velvety texture and a long finish. A little one dimensional but solid. Give it a year or two to soften.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The dense purple-colored 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain reveals abundant aromas of cassis interwoven with hints of bay leaf, licorice, and underbrush. Moderately high tannins give pause, but the sweetness of the fruit as well as the level of glycerin and concentration bode well assuming the tannins fall away at a reasonable pace....Hall Winery appears to have turned things around in a very dramatic and positive fashion.
While this Cab is a little rough here and there, it’s quite good, and the divots, which include some unevenly ripened fruit, are leavened with overall richness and a generosity of texture. Flatters the palate with flavors of blackberries, chocolate and sweet oak.
