Delord 25 Year Old Bas Armagnac (750ml)

SKU #1055746 96-100 points Wine Enthusiast

*Best Buy* The nose is biscuity, caramel-like, cream Sherry-like with a touch of cheese-like rancio. The palate entry tastes like bittersweet dark chocolate, cocoa butter, chocolate-covered raisins and dark honey; the midpalate is fruity and less bittersweet than the entry, making for a succulent aftertaste. A genuine classic. (9/2006)

The dried fruit really comes through on the mid-palate and the finish is a burst of cinnamon with a silky smooth exit. To get a 25 year Armagnac for this price is already a great deal, but to have it taste this good is practically criminal. The Delord family who have been making this spirit since the late 1800s.
